Big 3 Bail-Out

For those of you who don't live in Michigan and may have a hard time understanding the impact that the auto-industry has on the local economy check out this article from today's Detroit Free Press. The bail out going before the Senate on Monday is critical to The Big 3 Automakers (GM, Ford & Chrysler). While I fully believe in free market economics the impact that the collapse of our original American industry would have on the nation would be devastating. Yes, I'm biased being from Detroit and living there part-time, but please read the article. It's more than just some old school businessmen who can't get it together to make a change in new times... It's the essence of this once thriving city and the core industry of this nation that hangs in the balance.
The photo above is an ode to the Ford family, which owns the Detroit Lions and obviously the majority of Ford Motor Company. Maybe a bail out can help the team? Nah, probably not.

Notice the gas prices are going down, and fast? That is because Bush is leaving, and he is trying to clean up his mess. Hopefully Obama will rescue the companies that need it, not the ones that are the cause of most of it.

These people are not money hungry Wall Street fuck ups; they are hard working people who deserve a bailout.

This is America, they are Americans building American cars, I do not see the issue.
